In a strategic move to enhance the global competitiveness of beauty and cosmetics SMEs, the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Association (GSMBA) has announced the recruitment of companies for the 'Beauty Design Development Project', part of the '2026 Beauty Industry Support Program'.

This initiative is set to significantly boost the market presence and export capabilities of local firms by providing financial backing for design development aimed at establishing strong brand identities and product differentiation.

Set to conclude recruitment by April 17, participants in this program can receive direct financial assistance of up to 10 million KRW (approximately $8,000) for expenses related to design development, including packaging, branding, and prototype creation.

By focusing on promising companies with growth potential, GSMBA aims to fortify their market presence domestically and internationally.

In addition to financial support, participating companies will have access to tailored consulting from experts in management, marketing, intellectual property rights, and regulatory compliance.

Notably, this year will see an added focus on leveraging overseas online platforms, which is crucial for local firms looking to expand their market reach amidst increasingly competitive global dynamics.

Eligible applicants are defined by the Cosmetics Act, Section 2, Paragraph 2, which includes registered manufacturers and sales businesses with headquarters or production facilities located in Gyeonggi Province.

Interested parties can find application details on GSMBA's official website (www.gsmba.kr) or through the Gyeonggi Enterprise Secretary (www.egbiz.or.kr).

According to a representative from GSMBA, "Through this initiative, we expect to enhance the product competitiveness and brand value of Gyeonggi's beauty and cosmetics SMEs while reinforcing their foundation for domestic and international market entry.

We are committed to expanding diverse support aimed at securing growth dynamics for small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitating their commercialization efforts. "

This strategic initiative not only aids local businesses but also presents opportunities for global investors and buyers looking to tap into the innovation and growth potential of the Korean beauty sector.

Enhanced support in design and brand development could lead to the emergence of unique products poised to capture market share in international beauty markets, thereby fostering collaborative opportunities across supply chains and investment channels.
