Jeju Island's natural beauty resources have successfully made their mark on the global stage as local cosmetics firms secured export contracts valued at 3.8 billion KRW during their participation at the 2026 Cosmoprof Bologna, the world’s largest beauty exhibition held from March 26 to 28, 2026, in Italy.
This achievement positions Jeju cosmetics as the emerging player in international markets, demonstrating the effectiveness of strategic export initiatives.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in collaboration with Jeju Technopark, led by Director Yeon Gil-hun.
The promotional pavilion showcased four certified Jeju cosmetics companies—The Lotus Co., Ltd., Jeju Indie Co., Ltd., GLG N.
B., and JBeauty Co., Ltd.—that captivated local buyers with their products formulated from Jeju’s unique natural ingredients.
At the event, Jeju Technopark operated a promotional booth, emphasizing local marketing support for the participating companies.
Advanced buyer matching processes intensified engagement, leading to heightened business success rates.
The on-site setup included translation services, consultation spaces, and export consulting, effectively creating a conducive environment for contract negotiations focused solely on sealing deals.
The outcome was notable, with 76 consultation sessions leading to the formation of contracts targeting 10 countries including Italy, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Greece.
This level of engagement not only underscores the competitive edge of Jeju cosmetics but also reaffirms their growing footprint in the global marketplace.
Yeon Gil-hun, Director of Jeju Technopark, stated, "Despite the high barriers present in global markets, the excellence of Jeju cosmetics has manifested in visible results.
We are committed to nurturing forward and backward linkages within the industry and creating a robust export environment to ensure that our global network translates into actual sales increases.
" It is noteworthy that the Jeju cosmetics certification program guarantees the quality and safety of products produced within the province.
Overseen by the Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, this certification ensures that products contain naturally sourced ingredients characteristic of Jeju's pristine environment and are manufactured in certified facilities within the region.
