Aekyung Industry has initiated its strategic entry into the European haircare market by launching nine products from its K-beauty brands Cica Labo and Alpist in all Rossmann Poland retail locations and its online platform.

This marks a significant step for a company keen on tapping into Poland’s robust growth potential, where the haircare market is projected to reach approximately 4.8 billion PLN (around 1.6 trillion KRW) by 2024, growing at an average of 6% annually.

The Polish market's distribution landscape relies heavily on drugstores, where demand for functional scalp care products and vegan-centric offerings is on the rise.

Aekyung Industry's move into this space is underpinned by market research highlighting the emerging trend of 'skinification'—a concept where scalp care is treated with the same precision as skincare.

This trend encompasses products aimed at soothing and moisturizing the scalp, reflecting a shift towards cleaner beauty products derived from natural ingredients.

The specific offerings from Aekyung Industry are tailored to meet this demand: Cica Labo focuses on scalp care that aligns with the skinification trend, using centella asiatica as a main ingredient to soothe sensitive scalps and enhance moisture levels.

Meanwhile, Alpist is designed around a vegan concept rooted in natural ingredients, with a particular emphasis on maintaining scalp balance.

Aekyung Industry underscores Poland as a high-potential market for functional haircare and vegan products, a sentiment echoed by an official spokesperson who stated, "Poland is a market where the demand for both functional haircare and vegan products is simultaneously growing.

We will continue to enhance the competitiveness of our K-beauty haircare brands on a global scale. "

The company has already secured distribution through approximately 2,000 touchpoints and aims to broaden its geographical footprint beyond Poland.

Plans include expanding product lines to include hair treatments, essences, and body care, based on sales performance and consumer feedback in the Polish market.

Additionally, Aekyung is exploring further market entry into neighboring countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, and Hungary through Rossmann Group's established beauty and drugstore channels.

This European debut not only introduces Aekyung's K-beauty haircare portfolio to new consumers but also sets the stage for potential expansion into other key drugstore channels across the continent.

The successful launch of Cica Labo and Alpist in Poland signifies Aekyung Industry's strategic commitment to growing its footprint in the competitive European beauty landscape and could serve as a pivotal step in diversifying its global distribution network.
