The Korea Health Industry Development Institute, under the leadership of Director Cha Soon-do, has proactively updated its periodical 'Global Biohealth Industry Trends' to align with the South Korean government's strategic national objective of establishing the country as a leader in medical artificial intelligence (AI), pharmaceuticals, and biohealth.

This overhaul is not just a routine update, but a deliberate move to adapt to the rapidly evolving global industrial landscape.

Since its inception in 2012, the Global Trends report has served as a vital resource for improving the global competitiveness of Korea's biohealth sector, providing comprehensive insights into the latest developments and key issues in the biohealth industries of major countries and promising markets.

In response to ongoing changes in the industrial environment, last year saw the introduction of new sections focusing on trade and global events, significantly enhancing the report's coverage of global supply chains, trade policies, and international exchange information.

This latest revision includes a dedicated segment on medical artificial intelligence, underscoring the critical importance of AI technologies that are permeating various industries.

The new focus will be implemented starting with Volume 584, scheduled for publication on April 13.

The significance of AI as a core driving force in the new economy is evident, particularly within the biohealth sector, where applications are expanding across diagnostics, drug development, and medical data analysis, alongside increasing investments in these areas.

The Korea Health Industry Development Institute aims to systematically consolidate previously scattered global medical AI information into this updated report, thus enabling stakeholders in the industry to grasp technological changes holistically and strategize effectively.

Lee Byeong-kwan, head of the Biohealth Innovation Planning Division, stated, "This revision reflects the changing dynamics of the global biohealth industry influenced by the spread of artificial intelligence technology, and we hope it aids domestic industries in proactively identifying key future technologies to strengthen their competitiveness.

" The updated publication can be accessed through the Institute's website under the '[Trends and Information] → [Biohealth Industry Trends] → [Global Trends]' section.
