The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), under the leadership of President Cha Soon-do, announced on the 10th the release of an updated version of its publication, "Global Biohealth Industry Trends," aimed at enhancing the nation’s competitiveness in the biohealth sector. This initiative aligns with the government's core objective of establishing Korea as a powerhouse in medical artificial intelligence (AI), pharmaceuticals, and biohealth, and addresses the rapidly evolving global market landscape.

Since its inception in 2012, this report has served as a crucial resource, providing comprehensive information on the latest trends and key issues within the biohealth sectors of major countries and promising markets. In the previous year, the report expanded its scope with new sections on trade, globalization, and international exchanges, facilitating industry responses to changes in the business environment.

The recent addition of a dedicated section on "Medical AI" reflects the growing importance of AI technologies across various industries, including diagnostics, drug development, and healthcare data analytics. Scheduled for release in Issue 584 on April 13, this new focus is expected to bolster investment and innovation within the sector.

By systematically integrating global medical AI information, KHIDI aims to enable the Korean industry to comprehend technological shifts better and utilize them strategically for competitive differentiation. The overhaul of the publication will create a consolidated resource, making it easier for stakeholders to stay informed about relevant advancements.

Lee Byeong-kwan, head of the Biohealth Innovation Planning Division at KHIDI, stated, “This renovation reflects the ongoing changes in the global biohealth industry driven by the proliferation of AI technologies. We hope it will assist the domestic industry in identifying core future technologies proactively, thereby strengthening their competitiveness.”

The publication is accessible via the KHIDI website at www.khidi.or.kr in the section designated for Biohealth Industry Trends under "[Trends and Information] → [Biohealth Industry Trends] → [Global Trends]."
