Colma Holdings and Kolmar Korea announced their renewed commitment to compliance management during their 36th anniversary celebrations. As 2023 marks the year Colma Group was designated as a large business group, it aims to solidify its compliance structure at the group level, thereby enhancing its operational integrity in a competitive landscape.
On the 14th, both companies held the "4th Annual Compliance Day" at Kolmar Korea's Integrated Technology Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and their factory in Jeon-ui-myeon, Sejong City. Established as part of their initiatives since their founding anniversary on May 15, the companies have made it a yearly tradition to celebrate this day dedicated to compliance awareness.
This event is strategically significant as it aims to strengthen the culture surrounding the Compliance Program (CP) within the group and elevate the compliance consciousness among employees. Prior to the event, a company-wide ethics management pledge campaign was launched, engaging all employees across various business units.
This year, the program included diverse experiential activities designed to naturally instill the importance of compliance among employees. Colma Holdings introduced a "CP Contest," encouraging employees to create slogans that promote a compliance culture—a first this year. Vice Chairman Yoon Sang-hyun presented the award directly to the top contestant, enhancing employee engagement and competitive spirit.
Kolmar Korea designated the period from the 11th to the 14th as "Compliance Week," featuring both online and offline programs that included events like "Compliance MBTI" and a "Compliance Case Study Challenge." These initiatives served to motivate employee participation and highlighted compliance best practices by recognizing five exemplary employees with awards.
Reflecting on the importance of compliance, Vice Chairman Yoon stated, "The compliance program is a key competitive advantage that influences corporate value and trust. In light of the enhanced social responsibility and expectations following our designation as a large business group, we will continue to advance our compliance structure at the group level." This strategic emphasis on compliance underlines a proactive approach in navigating regulatory landscapes and reinforcing trust with stakeholders.
Since implementing the compliance program in 2021, Colma Holdings has developed a comprehensive compliance management framework. This year, to further strengthen compliance, the company has established a dedicated CP team under the Sustainability Management Office. Last year, the company participated in the Fair Trade Commission's CP rating assessment, achieving an A grade, which not only validates its commitment to compliance but also enhances its market reputation and operational integrity.
