The International Beauty Industry Trade Association (IBITA) announced on the 10th that it will collaborate with KOTRA to participate in 'Beautyworld Japan Tokyo 2026,' set to take place from May 18 to 20 at Tokyo Big Sight. This event is recognized as Japan's largest B2B beauty trade fair, expected to attract approximately 1,000 exhibiting companies and over 70,000 industry professionals and buyers.

In this strategic exhibition, IBITA President Yoon Joo-taek and KOTRA CEO Kang Kyung-seong will enhance collaborative efforts under a government-supported institutional framework to facilitate the expansion of the Korean beauty industry into Japan. The participation will feature an integrated Korean pavilion alongside an independent IBITA pavilion, showcasing around 40 Korean companies. These exhibitors will present a wide array of products and technologies, spanning cosmetics, aesthetics, beauty devices, hair care, nails, eyelash extensions, OEM/ODM, and inner beauty sectors.

Notably, nearly 90% of Beautyworld Japan's visitors are local Japanese buyers, emphasizing its focus as a practical consultation exhibition centered on distribution and contract negotiations. This highlights the event's reputation as a business-oriented platform, particularly strong in sectors such as aesthetics, nails, eyelash extensions, and clinics. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in buyers from hospitals, clinics, and medical beauty sectors, reflecting a growing interest in K-Beauty within the Japanese market, especially in demand for dermocosmetics, functional skincare, wellness, feminine care, and inner beauty products. Interest in the OEM/ODM sector is also surging.

IBITA Executive Director Kim Eun-jung emphasized the importance of establishing long-term distribution partnerships and brand trust in the Japanese market. She stated, "We plan to actively support participating companies in generating tangible results with major local distributors and buyers." Furthermore, she noted that K-Beauty has matured from a fleeting trend to a stable and recognized category in Japan. This exhibition is likely to reaffirm the competitive strength and technological prowess of Korean brands.

Post-event, IBITA plans to continue support for participating companies through follow-up buyer matching services and preliminary recruitment for the 2027 exhibition, ensuring sustained engagement with the Japanese market.
