Incheon City announced on the 12th that it has achieved significant export consultation results during its participation at 'K-EXPO SPAIN 2026' held in Madrid, totaling 5.6 billion won. This outcome is notable as it confirms the potential for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to penetrate the European market.

From June 12 to 13, 2026, Incheon City operated a shared exhibition space in collaboration with eight local beauty companies at the MEEU exhibition center. The initiative also served as a platform for city brand marketing, reinforcing Incheon's visibility and appeal within the European beauty sector.

The K-expo attracted over 317 local buyers and 81 companies, becoming a specialized trade show focused on K-beauty and K-food. Incheon’s participation aligns with its strategy to assist local businesses in expanding their international sales channels while also enhancing ties within the overseas Korean business community.

During the event, a total of 81 export consultations were conducted, generating consultation values amounting to approximately 3.25 million euros (around 5.6 billion won). Notably, Korean Lighting, one of the participating companies, successfully established an export contract with a local firm, marking a significant milestone in its European market entry.

Participants engaged in one-on-one business consultations with local buyers, identifying strong interest in K-beauty products, especially in skincare and functional cosmetics. This expo transitioned from mere product display to a foundation for actual export agreements and local distribution network establishment, showcasing its importance in creating genuine market opportunities.

Incheon City also promoted the '2025-2026 Overseas Koreans Incheon Visit Year' and the 24th World Korean Businessmen Conference through its promotional booth, which attracted over 1,200 visitors. Additionally, 700 attendees participated in a social media event, indicating significant local interest in Incheon’s initiatives.

Through collaborative discussions with organizations like World-OKTA and the Federation of Korean Industries in Europe, Incheon City is set to fortify its support for local enterprise internationalization and buyer recruitment strategies at the World Korean Businessmen Conference.

Incheon City officials emphasized the importance of participating in the K-EXPO in promoting the competitive capabilities of its enterprises to the European market and ensuring tangible export achievements. Looking forward, there are plans to leverage the overseas Korean business network to facilitate the global market penetration of local SMEs, driving Incheon’s ambition to evolve into a global business hub.
