P&K Skin Clinical Research Center Co., Ltd. (347740), led by CEOs Park Jin-o and Lee Hae-gwang, announced on the 1st that it showcased its tailored human application testing solutions at ‘In-Cosmetics Korea 2026’ held from the 1st to 3rd of this month in Seoul's COEX. The solutions are designed to optimize testing items and evaluation methods based on the target markets and desired efficacy claims of client brands.
With the recent expansion of K-Beauty in global markets, the importance of having objective data to validate product efficacy and safety continues to grow. Particularly in key markets such as the United States and Europe, securing safety data that meets national regulatory requirements and provides scientific evidence for efficacy are critical elements for establishing global competitiveness. As such, there is a heightened need for trial designs that consider target markets from the product development stage.
At the exhibition, P&K introduced various customized human application testing solutions across several domains, including moisturization, whitening, wrinkle improvement, lifting, pore refinement, skin barrier, scalp and hair care, and color cosmetics. They offered efficacy verification strategies tailored to each product, taking into account current cosmetic regulations by country, efficacy claim standards, and purposes for utilizing test data — essential for brands preparing to enter overseas markets.
P&K particularly emphasized the need for regulatory compliance following the implementation of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) in the United States and the need for the Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) for entering the European market. They are enhancing their services to ensure that clients develop structured safety and efficacy verification materials required by their target markets right from the product design phase.
Currently, P&K supports testing design based on over 400 established testing protocols and accumulated clinical dermatological data, considering product characteristics, desired efficacy, and target markets. Their approach goes beyond merely executing predetermined tests; they propose evaluation items and testing methods based on clients' intended utilization of the efficacy data.
Furthermore, P&K is integrating AI technology with its accumulated dermatological clinical big data to optimize testing design and efficacy analysis frameworks. This will facilitate clients in obtaining efficacy data suited to product characteristics and target markets, allowing for more strategic utilization of verification materials throughout the research and development process and global market entry.
A representative from P&K stated, “As K-Beauty grows in the global market, the ability to substantiate efficacy claims with objective data while adapting to national regulatory environments becomes increasingly important. We will continually strengthen our capacity as a specialized human application testing institution that connects efficacy verification and global regulatory compliance to enhance the competitiveness of K-Beauty brands in the global arena.” They previously announced on April 1 that they aim for an average annual revenue growth of over 20% and to maintain an operating profit margin of over 20% each year from 2026 to 2028 as part of their value enhancement plan. P&K plans to expand their human application testing business in response to the growing global demand for efficacy verification and to continually enhance their capacity for analyzing clinical skin data and regulatory compliance services.
