Gangwon Province announced on the 10th that it will support the participation of six local consumer goods companies in the 'Korea Expo in PARIS 2026,' scheduled for June 18 to 20 in Paris. This strategic initiative is designed to facilitate entry into the European market and expand export avenues for local businesses.

The 'Korea Expo in PARIS 2026' represents a significant opportunity, taking place in France, a key consumer market for Korean Wave products, including K-food, K-beauty, K-lifestyle, and K-content. The event serves as a vital platform for Korean enterprises to engage directly with local buyers and consumers, paving the way for export opportunities and market foothold in Europe.

In this edition, six companies from Gangwon Province will participate, comprising two food brands, three cosmetic brands, and one lifestyle goods manufacturer, showcasing the region's high-quality consumer products. During the exhibition, these companies will conduct export consultations, promote their products, and explore market research to assess the viability of entering the European market.

Notably, this year celebrates the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France, amplifying cultural and economic exchanges. In this context, Gangwon Province, in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce, aims to bolster local businesses' foundations in Europe and create new export prospects through extensive support.

To ensure tangible outcomes, the province has partnered with the Gangwon University GTEP program, facilitating pre-event buyer discovery, online marketing, promotional material development, booth operation, interpretation, and contract negotiations. Through these initiatives, GTEP students will gain hands-on experience in international trade activities, thereby enhancing their global engagement skills, while local businesses improve their responsiveness to foreign buyers and export consultation effectiveness.

The province plans to leverage this expo to broaden opportunities for local consumer goods enterprises in the European market, fostering a sustainable export growth model that benefits both universities and regional businesses.

Kim Man-ho, Economic Affairs Director of Gangwon Province, stated that "the Paris K-Premium Expo is a crucial platform for Gangwon enterprises to validate their potential in the European market and discover new export opportunities," emphasizing ongoing support to help these local consumer goods companies secure competitiveness in the global marketplace.
