The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), led by Director Cha Soon-do, announced on the 10th that it has revamped its publication, "Global Biohealth Industry Trends," to actively support the government's key national agenda of establishing South Korea as a stronghold in medical artificial intelligence (AI), pharmaceuticals, and biohealth.

This publication aims to enhance the global competitiveness of South Korea's biohealth sector by providing comprehensive insights into the latest trends and key issues in biohealth from major countries and promising markets. Since its inception in 2012, this resource has served as a crucial reference point for industry stakeholders.

Last year, the inclusion of new sections on trade and global events strengthened the information available on global supply chains, trade policies, and international exchange. This enhancement has positioned the publication as an adaptive resource in a rapidly evolving industrial environment.

The introduction of the medical AI section reflects the growing significance of AI technologies across all industries. The upcoming issue, set to release on April 13th (Vol. 584), will underscore the increasing utilization of AI in diagnostic processes, drug development, and medical data analysis, indicating a trajectory of heightened investment in these technologies.

Through this revision, KHIDI plans to systematically integrate previously dispersed global medical AI information, thereby enabling the domestic industry to comprehensively grasp technological advancements and strategically utilize them. The implications for operational efficiency and market entry strategies are substantial, potentially leading to enhanced revenue streams and improved market responsiveness.

Lee Byung-kwan, head of the Biohealth Innovation Planning Division at KHIDI, stated that this overhaul reflects the transformation trends in the global biohealth industry due to the proliferation of AI technologies. He expressed hope that this will assist the domestic industry in proactively identifying core future technologies and bolstering competitiveness.

The publication is available for review on the KHIDI website under the sections [Trends and Information] → [Biohealth Industry Trends] → [Global Trends].
