L'Oréal Korea announced on the 23rd that the team 'Oh, Real!' (Kim Min-ji, Yang Nae-won, Lim Ho-taek) claimed victory in the domestic finals of the global innovation contest, 'L'Oréal Brandstorm 2026.' This competition, now in its 34th year, aims to foster creativity and entrepreneurial skills among young participants aged 18 to 30, offering significant career development opportunities.

The significance of the Brandstorm initiative lies in its structured approach to providing young talent with real-world business challenges. By engaging participants in problem-solving scenarios, the program cultivates entrepreneurial thinking and creativity. The excellence of this educational experience is recognized by the European Foundation for Management Development, which has certified it under the EOCCS (EFMD Online Course Certification System). Furthermore, it is integrated into the curricula of over 100 universities and business schools globally, effectively serving as a pipeline for emerging talent, with about 200 candidates recruited each year into L'Oréal's workforce.

This year's competition theme, 'Craft the Future of Luxury Fragrance,' drew more than 1,400 students in South Korea alone, generating a wealth of original ideas within four key areas: Product Craft, Tech & Science, Transformative Experience, and Advocacy & Communities. Such a diverse range of insights reflects a growing consumer interest in experiential, tech-driven luxury, signaling opportunities for brands to rethink their positioning and offerings in this sector.

The finals unfolded in an engaging offline setting at L'Oréal Korea's headquarters, where six finalist teams presented their proposals after receiving mentorship from L'Oréal experts. This mentorship underlines the company's strategy of deepening engagement with talent, ensuring that emerging professionals are well-equipped to tackle contemporary beauty challenges.

The winning 'Oh, Real!' team showcased innovative ideas on the future of luxury fragrance, securing their position to represent South Korea in the international finals in Paris, with complete sponsorship for travel, accommodation, and visas. The prize also includes internship opportunities at L'Oréal Korea, emphasizing the company's commitment to nurturing young talent by providing practical industry experience and ongoing mentorship.

Rodrigo Pizarro, the CEO of L'Oréal Korea, expressed his enthusiasm for the extensive participation and the remarkable ideas presented, highlighting the transformative potential of sensory experiences in fragrance innovation. He anticipates that the winning team will excel on the international stage, reflecting the significant potential of youth-led creativity in shaping the future of luxury fragrance.

Lim Ho-taek, a member of the winning team, noted the impact of the Brandstorm mentoring in developing practical skills such as marketing and the utilization of AI tools. He emphasized that their team's exploration of the luxury fragrance topic ultimately yielded positive results and expressed confidence in bringing their unique perspectives to the Paris international finals.
