Imiein Reports Record Q1 Revenue of 40.9 Billion Won, Driven by Hydrogel and Skincare Growth
Imiein announced on the 10th that it achieved a revenue of 40.9 billion won and an operating profit of 3.2 billion won in Q1 2026, marking the first time in its history that it has surpassed the 40 billion won mark in first-quarter sales. This represents a year-on-year increase of 22% in revenue and 27% in operating profit, reflecting simultaneous growth in both top-line performance and profitability.
The key drivers of this quarterly performance were the significant gains in the hydrogel and basic skincare categories. Imiein's hydrogel segment grew by 42% compared to the same period last year, spearheading revenue expansion. Notably, one of its leading ODM-produced products, the COSRX hydrogel eye patch, alone sold approximately 2 million units in the first quarter, while the L&P Cosmetic Mediheal hydrogel mask reached nearly 2.8 million units in sales, demonstrating the category's robust growth potential.
Given the strong Q1 performance, industry analysts forecast that Imiein is on track to exceed annual revenue of 180 billion won for the fiscal year. The potential for sustained growth in hyper-competitive markets positions Imiein favorably against rivals, particularly as the hydrogel category gains increasing traction globally.
The company noted an increasing global preference for hydrogel formulations, especially functional skincare products such as eye patches and mask packs. These products are recognized for superior skin adherence and effective ingredient delivery, enhancing their competitive edge in the premium skincare segment.
Moreover, in the overseas basic skincare category, sales increased by 40.3% year-on-year, validating Imiein's competitive positioning in global markets. Sales for a U.S. skincare brand in partnership with Imiein grew by 43%, while Japanese brand N recorded a substantial 54% growth, illustrating a dual expansion trend in both North American and Japanese markets.
Amidst the influx of new partnerships with domestic indie brands and global luxury brands, Imiein has also enhanced its customer portfolio, diversifying its business ecosystem. The cumulative order volume for Q1 2026 reflects a robust over 40% year-on-year increase, further sustaining the positive trajectory in its operational flow.
Strengthening its research and development capabilities has begun yielding results, particularly since the hiring of a research director from Amorepacific and Kolmar Korea at the beginning of 2026. This initiative has led to an uptick in inquiries from domestic and international clients regarding the development of basic skincare products. Additionally, Imiein is collaborating with prominent raw material companies to co-develop eco-friendly and proprietary ingredients, enhancing its differentiated ingredient competitiveness.
Imiein stated, "The stable growth of the hydrogel category, coupled with rapid expansion in the overseas basic skincare space, has significantly contributed to our strong Q1 performance. We aim to strengthen our mid- to long-term growth foundations through enhanced R&D capabilities, diversification of global clientele, and the development of eco-friendly and unique raw materials."
