K-Beauty Strategizes Global Expansion through Innovative Experience-Driven Model
Koeico announced on the 10th that it will kick off its global expansion model for K-beauty at the Cosme Tokyo & Tech Beauty Exhibition in January 2026, followed by its participation in major international trade shows such as the China International Beauty Expo in Guangzhou and Cosmoprof in Bologna. This initiative will leverage Korean cosmeceuticals' superiority while simultaneously broadening export channels for local businesses.
This approach embodies a multifaceted strategy that integrates content, experience, and export connectivity. By establishing a cohesive ecosystem combining cultural events, promotional exhibitions, and B2B opportunities, Koeico aims to enhance the visibility of K-beauty products and create meaningful connections with consumers globally.
In collaboration with the Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute, Koeico is pursuing a project titled 'K-Beauty Exhibition and Experience Zone Operation in Connection with Overseas Hallyu Expositions.' This initiative signifies a shift towards a performance-driven global strategy, enhancing the competitiveness of domestic cosmetics industries by expanding consumer touchpoints, strengthening digital promotions, and promoting exports for SMEs.
The Hallyu exhibitions scheduled for this year are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency. Six collaborating departments, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will support this global initiative, which includes events in the United States (Los Angeles), France (Paris), and Mexico (Mexico City), aiming to build on prior successes seen in the 2025 K-EXPO in Canada, Spain, and the UAE.
Koeico will implement four key strategies to go beyond promotional activities and achieve actual export results. These include increasing influencer-driven online promotion, reinforcing experience-based purchasing connections, expanding product visibility for SMEs, and establishing a data-driven performance management system.
The experiential aspect of this project aims to involve attendees in engaging programs such as skin and personal color diagnostics, as well as makeup experiences. This structure is intended to foster trust and interest among consumers, ultimately encouraging purchasing intent and conversion.
By creating a joint showcase for K-beauty products, the initiative will reduce cost burdens while effectively exposing various products to local consumers. Collaboration with local influencers not only broadens consumer touchpoints but also builds brand recognition through a unified K-beauty identity.
Detailed data management will be employed throughout the events, analyzing attendee responses and preferences to convert exhibition successes into tangible export opportunities. This strategic focus will adapt to the distinct characteristics of each market, beginning with Los Angeles as a testing ground for K-beauty appeal, followed by France's premium market insights, and tapping into Mexico’s emerging consumer base.
Koeico's presence in Los Angeles is especially noteworthy as it represents a critical market for global beauty trends, heavily influenced by social media. The Los Angeles event will emphasize a concept of 'Experience and Share K-Beauty Now,' running immediate-effect programs such as skin diagnostics and SNS-integrated photo zones designed to create a seamless online-offline marketing impact.
As the initiative expands into France and Mexico, tailored strategies will reflect the unique market traits of each region. In Paris, emphasis will be on storytelling and personalized experiences that affirm K-beauty’s quality, while Mexico City will focus on accessibility, engagement, and fun content to attract younger consumers.
This ambitious project is set to raise global awareness of K-beauty, facilitating SME expansion into international markets through a structured model that intertwines performance results with an effective export framework. Koeico CEO Jo Wan-Soo stated that through this initiative, a cohesive link between content, experience, and export will be established, boosting both the global expansion of K-beauty and the domestic cosmetics industry.
