Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it has successfully conducted 209 export consultations from May 25 to 30 in Prague, Czech Republic, and Vienna, Austria, securing contracts worth $3.39 million. This initiative represents a strategic move to penetrate emerging markets in Europe, particularly for the beauty sector, which has seen a spike in demand.

This export consultation was driven by an evident rise in interest for cosmetics and skincare products within the European region, highlighting the lucrative potential for K-beauty brands. Notably, this engagement included ten promising local companies that had either completed registration on the European Cosmetics Product Notification Portal (CPNP) or possessed overseas certifications, thus ensuring their products meet the stringent market requirements.

The consultations were uniquely tailored, pairing local buyers with participating companies in a one-on-one format, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of each interaction. Gyeonggi Province provided comprehensive support, including local buyer identification, matchmaking services, consultation room setup, specialized translation support, group transportation, partial airfare subsidies (50%, limited to $800), and pre-education and consulting related to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) strategies. This thorough support mechanism facilitated a focused and productive consultation atmosphere.

Results from the event indicate a strong potential for growth, with consultations in Prague yielding 106 engagements totaling $5.56 million, alongside approximately $2.42 million in actionable contracts. In Vienna, 103 consultations with local buyers resulted in commitments of around $970,000 from a total consultative value of $2.09 million.
