Dr. G announced on the 10th that it will continue its sponsorship of the Green Umbrella's '2026 Cheongjagi (Stories of Youth Independence)' project for a third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to fostering healthy independence among young adults.

The Cheongjagi program, which is a flagship initiative by Green Umbrella, aims to establish a solid foundation for youth preparing for independence and those aging out of shelters. Dr. G’s participation as an official sponsor, alongside the Green Umbrella’s Gyeonggi 1 Regional Headquarters, runs from June to November of this year. This sustained collaboration emphasizes the brand’s long-term engagement in social issues affecting youth.

Founded by dermatologist Dr. Ahn Geon-young, Dr. G operates under a philosophy centered on empowering youth to lead lives where their will and talent are not hindered by their environment. Dr. Ahn, who overcame a childhood burn incident, has continually highlighted the importance of resilience and self-sufficiency among young people, making this sponsorship particularly meaningful and aligned with the brand's ethos.

This year's program marks a notable evolution from its previous focus on social perception improvement and community engagement. It now emphasizes the enhancement of individual self-reliance capabilities. The program has transitioned from a foundation-led regular meeting model to a self-directed structure where youths will propose projects that are then selected through a competitive application process. This shift empowers participants and reflects a growing demand for ownership and agency among young individuals.

A total of five teams have been selected for this year’s initiative. Key projects include ▲ volunteer planning and operation for independent youth from orphanages ▲ establishment of incubating environments for the food service sector ▲ employment capability enhancement programs through language skill improvement, such as TOEIC preparation.

The kickoff event for this year’s activities, the '2026 Cheongjagi Launch Ceremony,' took place on June 5 at the Green Umbrella Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters in Suwon. Approximately 25 attendees, including An Jeong-eun, Dr. G’s CEO, Yeo In-mi, Head of the Green Umbrella Gyeonggi 1 Regional Headquarters, and selected team members, gathered to support the youth's new beginnings.

During the event, CEO An Jeong-eun remarked, “Cheongjagi represents a meaningful program that supports youth preparing for independence, allowing them to grow at their own pace and in their own direction. This year, as it operates in a self-directed manner where youth can plan and execute, Dr. G aims to be a reliable partner that gives them the courage to step beyond skin care and into the world.”

Dr. G, founded to address skin-related challenges, maintains its position as the top mass skincare brand in South Korea for six consecutive years according to Worldpanel research. With over 33 million units sold of its 'Black Snail Cream' and 32 million units of the 'Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream,' it holds a significant presence in 13 countries, including Japan, the United States, and Thailand, setting standards in the global K-derma market. Underpinned by a brand philosophy that heals lives as well as skin, Dr. G continues to engage in various CSR activities, such as supporting the Green Umbrella and Hallym Burn Foundation and participating in employee volunteer work. Recently, it received the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Chairman’s Award for its contributions to supporting vulnerable students unable to pursue their dreams due to financial hardships. In May, the brand expanded its global CSR efforts by donating 'Clean & Moisture Trial Kits' to two charity organizations in the United States.
