Wingate Korea, led by CEO Son Seong-min, announced on the 10th that it will participate in the Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference 2026 (CEAC 2026), scheduled for June 16 and 17 in Brussels, Belgium. This attendance underscores the company's commitment to staying informed on pivotal changes in the European cosmetics landscape, which has direct implications for Korean enterprises navigating these evolving regulatory frameworks.

CEAC 2026, organized by Cosmetics Europe, will address key industry themes such as safety, well-being, regulatory changes, sustainability, and shifts in global market dynamics. These discussions will not only inform policy but will also guide operational strategies for Korean cosmetics firms seeking to adapt to the EU market.

The conference will focus on critical topics directly relevant to domestic companies, including updates to EU policy environments, alternative testing methods, and modifications to sun protection product recommendations. This collection of discussions serves as essential insights for stakeholders aiming to align with European safety standards and consumer expectations.

Son Seong-min expressed that the participation at CEAC 2026 aims to identify regulatory trends and directions from the global industry perspective, which will be analyzed from practical scenarios pertinent to Korean companies. In particular, the modifications to EU cosmetics regulations and safety assessment frameworks stand to impact how domestic firms validate the safety of their products.

A highlight will be the session titled 'Alternatives to animal testing – Getting to last resort,' which discusses restricting animal testing within EU regulations. This aligns with broader global shifts toward NAMs (New Approach Methodologies) for safety evaluations, signaling an imperative for Korean brands to consider innovative solutions in compliance.

The session on 'Casting light on the revised EU Recommendation for sun protection products' will also be significant, addressing efficacy standards and labeling practices that could compel brands and ingredient suppliers to collaborate on addressing regulatory challenges while optimizing market access.

Post-conference, on June 25, Son will share insights from CEAC 2026 at a seminar hosted by the Korean Cosmetic Industry Research Institute. This meeting will facilitate knowledge transfer on European cosmetic regulations and market approaches to local enterprises, fostering a deeper understanding of compliance pathways and safeguarding innovation. Son emphasized that CEAC 2026 represents a crucial opportunity to acquire firsthand information that will aid domestic companies in effectively responding to these evolving regulations.
