Eulji University's Professor Shin Kyu-ok Research Team Wins Best Paper at K-BEAUTY Conference

Eulji University’s Graduate School of Health and Welfare, led by Professor Shin Kyu-ok, notably secured the Best Paper Award and an Excellence Award at the 65th K-Beauty Society Summer Academic Conference held on the 13th at the Jeju Oriental Hotel. This recognition underscores the relevance of their research amidst the evolving landscape of K-beauty.

The conference, attracting over 180 attendees from beauty-related universities and industry professionals, centered on the theme of 'GREEN REPOSITIONING: Sustainable Growth Drivers for K-Beauty Brands in the Era of Value Consumption.' The academic community's engagement illustrates a collective push towards sustainable practices in the beauty industry.

Among the presented works, graduate student Lee Seung-joo offered critical insights into the legal challenges surrounding beauty device usage by estheticians, focusing on the necessity for regulatory reform. This timely analysis reflects a growing trend in the cosmetic industry where the utilization of beauty devices is swiftly expanding but not adequately supported by existing legal frameworks.

Professor Shin’s commentary on the rapid adoption of beauty devices emphasizes a significant gap between current regulations and practical applications. The study meticulously identifies legal issues that hinder safe industry growth while advocating for improved consumer protections and industry standards.

Additionally, graduate students Park Ye-eun, Baek Myung-sook, and Wang O-moon also received accolades in the poster presentation category.
