The Korea Federation of SMEs stated on the 18th that it will host the "2026 Daejeon-Sejong Vietnam Business Partnership Matching Day" in Hanoi from June 18 to June 19, featuring participation from 14 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Daejeon and Sejong.

This initiative includes nine companies from Daejeon and five from Sejong, recognizing the rapid economic growth in Northern Vietnam as an optimal opportunity. With Hanoi as a political and economic hub, the event aims to capitalize on the region's robust growth trajectory, which is currently witnessing annual growth rates of 7-8%.

Hanoi's burgeoning middle class is driving increased consumer spending, aligning well with the strategic goals of participating SMEs to explore new market opportunities and diversify their export channels. This move not only seeks immediate business engagement but also endorses longer-term market penetration strategies essential for growth in the competitive landscape of K-beauty.

Beyond personalized business matching sessions with potential buyers, additional events such as seminars on trademark registration and dispute resolution will also be held, aimed at equipping the participating companies with necessary legal knowledge for effective market penetration.

Following the event, continued support will be provided through the ASEAN office of the Korea Federation of SMEs located in Hanoi, reinforcing the commitment to help participating firms establish a foothold in the local market.

Kim Hee-jung, Head of Economic Policy at the Korea Federation of SMEs, noted that last year, 14 participating companies in Ho Chi Minh City achieved commendable consultation results amounting to $15,625,000, reflecting the positive reception towards K-beauty and other Korean SME products in Vietnam. He emphasized that, with favorable circumstances arising from recent diplomatic visits between the two countries, collaborative efforts with local governments will be crucial in expanding SME exports.
