Aekyung Industry Secures Certification as ‘Outstanding Company for Employee Invention Compensation’
Aekyung Industry announced on the 23rd that it has obtained the ‘Outstanding Company for Employee Invention Compensation’ certification, marking its fourth recognition following 2019, 2022, and set for 2024.
This certification initiative aims to promote the establishment of robust compensation guidelines for employee inventions, thereby enhancing the company's technological competitiveness. The Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association grant this certification to companies that exemplify exemplary management of employee invention compensation, conferring benefits such as expedited examination of patent applications, reduced registration fees, and additional points for certain government support programs.
Through this certification, Aekyung Industry is positioning itself as a leader in fostering an environment conducive to ongoing research and innovation, establishing a framework for securing valuable intellectual property rights. Recently, the company has completed compensation for 40 patent applications and 44 registered patents over the past two years, reflecting its proactive approach to encouraging inventive activities.
Aekyung Industry representatives stated, “Active R&D and invention activities by our employees are yielding diverse technological innovations.” This statement underlines the company’s strategy to further enhance the sophistication of its compensation systems and bolster support for R&D initiatives to strengthen employee expertise and proprietary technological advantages.
In addition to the employee invention compensation system, Aekyung is committed to driving R&D activities aimed at enhancing the intellectual property landscape, which includes hosting conferences for new technology development and facilitating consultation on invention matters. Over the last decade, the company has secured a total of 1,113 intellectual property rights, including 193 patent applications, 162 registered patents, 146 design registrations, and 612 trademarks.
This strategic emphasis on intellectual property and employee innovation sets a precedent within the beauty industry, indicating a shift towards greater emphasis on R&D-driven business models that leverage technological advancements for competitive differentiation.
