On the 25th, Samyang Group, led by Chairman Kim Yoon, announced the publication of its '2025 Sustainability Report,' highlighting the group’s sustainability strategy and key achievements. This comprehensive report, available on the electronic disclosure system and the official website, consolidates ESG management activities and performance across its five publicly listed subsidiaries: Samyang Holdings, Samyang Corp., Samyang Biopharm, Samyang Packaging, and Samyang KCI.

A notable inclusion in this year's report is Samyang Biopharm, which became an independent entity last year, thus broadening the scope of the group’s sustainable management initiatives. Meanwhile, for operational reasons, Samyang KCI will issue a separate sustainability report to provide in-depth coverage on its ESG strategies and performance, with only essential details included in the group’s consolidated report.

Samyang Group adopted a dual materiality assessment, reflecting global reporting standards such as GRI Standards 2021, ESRS, and SASB. The group has identified six critical issues: industrial safety and health, climate change response, ethical and compliant management, corporate governance, product safety and quality, and human resource management. Each issue is meticulously documented, detailing management frameworks, current initiatives, key achievements, and future directions, signifying a strategic consolidation of the group's ESG efforts.

To enhance ESG governance, Samyang Holdings has strengthened the execution framework through an ESG committee. Last year, the group established a performance evaluation system based on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all executives, and initiated an internal carbon pricing system, which enhances the implementation efficacy of its ESG management. The forthcoming strategy includes the proliferation of exemplary ESG practices across subsidiaries to bolster the group’s overall sustainability competitiveness.

Samyang Corp. is enhancing its governance structure to improve transparency and reliability in its operations. Following the appointment of compliance officers and the establishment of compliance control standards, the introduction of a fair trade compliance program has further strengthened its risk management framework. Continuous monitoring and improvement of internal controls and ethical management systems aim to embed a compliant culture across the organization.

Since its establishment as an independent entity, Samyang Biopharm has focused on building an integrated management framework centered around its ESG committee, strengthening its ESG capabilities. The subsidiary is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy use while establishing safety standards and human rights management protocols. It is also focused on securing the quality and data reliability of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, laying a robust foundation to evolve into a globally recognized, trustworthy biopharmaceutical firm.

Samyang Packaging is accelerating the establishment of a circular economy by vigorously pursuing physical recycling of PET resins. Plans to expand equipment for physical recycling and increase the use of recycled materials signal a strategic commitment to resource circulation. Additionally, the company is actively investing in solar power facilities, eco-friendly boilers, and high-efficiency equipment to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Samyang KCI is fortifying its sustainable growth framework through partnerships with prominent global clients. Recently, the company has successfully developed biodegradable surfactants and is accelerating the development of biodegradable conditioning polymers and plant-based raw materials. Achievements such as the Platinum rating from the global ESG evaluation agency EcoVadis, awarded to only the top 1% of companies for two consecutive years, underscore their commitment to sustainability.

Chasung Won, Executive Support Head of Samyang Corp., remarked, "ESG represents a core value that embodies our management philosophy of moderation and entrepreneurship, and serves as a critical foundation for sustainable growth. We will continue to evolve our ESG management framework and enhance transparency in information disclosure to build greater trust among stakeholders." The integrated 2025 Sustainability Report by Samyang Group is accessible via the Korea Exchange electronic disclosure system and on the websites of both Samyang Group and its companies.
