Gyeongbuk Province Secures $212,000 in Exports at InterCHARM Korea 2026
From July 1 to 3, Gyeongbuk Province participated in the 2026 InterCHARM Korea held at COEX, achieving a significant milestone with $240,000 in export consultations and $212,000 in finalized export contracts. This event underscores the region's commitment to enhancing the global competitiveness of its K-beauty sector.
InterCHARM Korea stands as the largest global cosmetics and beauty tech exhibition in South Korea, featuring over 5,000 beauty brands and attracting over 4,000 international buyers. The concurrent hosting of in-cosmetics Korea, the nation's only specialized exhibition for cosmetic ingredients, reinforces this platform’s value by showcasing the full spectrum of the beauty industry from raw materials to finished products.
During the exhibition, Gyeongbuk Province operated the 'Gyeongbuk K-Beauty Pavilion,' where 30 local beauty firms participated in export consultations. This initiative facilitated one-on-one business meetings with overseas buyers, establishing a vital foundation for expanding export channels and securing actual sales contracts.
Notably, Mijin Cosmetics secured contracts worth $1 million each with companies in the U.S. and China, resulting in a total of $2 million. This achievement highlights the potential for local brands to penetrate international markets effectively.
BioBio’s foot shampoo and foot deodorant mist were recognized at The Rising Awards, showcasing the technological prowess and market viability of their products. Additionally, BioBio successfully signed a $20,000 export contract with a Taiwanese firm.
Other local companies also made headway in international markets: Damul secured a $20,000 contract in the cosmetics and beauty device sector with a Hong Kong company, while KC Technology signed a $22,000 agreement with a Chinese firm in the scalp and hair polarization system field. J&Co Shoe clinched contracts with partners in Paraguay for Dr. Pepty products at $25,000 and with Central Asian distributors for skincare products at $32,000.
Building on the success of this exhibition, Gyeongbuk Province aims to foster ongoing collaboration between regional companies and international buyers. Plans include enhancing post-event follow-up support to help turn export consultations into actual contracts. Yang Geum-hee, the Deputy Governor of Economic Affairs, stated that the successful operation of the Gyeongbuk Pavilion reaffirmed the local beauty firms' technological excellence and global competitiveness. The government is committed to expanding this business platform, facilitating K-beauty brands to enhance their presence in global markets.
