YUNJAC, the high-performance skincare brand under Shinsegae International, announced on the 14th its strategic push into the North American market, capitalizing on its growth in China and Japan. This initiative aims to position YUNJAC as a leading global brand in the prep category, responding to the heightened competition in one of the world's most lucrative beauty markets.

The forthcoming participation in Cosmoprof North America, running until July 15 in Las Vegas, marks YUNJAC's entry into the U.S. market. This premier B2B beauty trade show attracts over 26,000 attendees and more than 1,000 brands from 113 countries, making it an ideal venue for establishing distribution partnerships and enhancing brand visibility.

Following the trade show, YUNJAC plans to operate pop-up stores in key West Coast cities for approximately three months, specifically targeting high-footfall areas such as Americana at Brand in Glendale, California, and Santana Row in Silicon Valley. This localized strategy aims to enhance direct consumer engagement and foster brand experiences, ultimately driving both in-store traffic and online sales.

In addition to physical retail efforts, YUNJAC will enter Costco's online marketplace by the end of July, effectively expanding its North American digital footprint. This dual approach of combining online and offline strategies not only increases brand exposure but also taps into Costco's extensive customer base, presenting opportunities for sustained revenue growth.

The increasing consumer demand for multifunctional K-beauty base products in the U.S. positions YUNJAC favorably. This trend toward skincare-meets-makeup solutions suggests a shift in consumer behavior where buyers gravitate toward products that enhance hydration and makeup adherence. YUNJAC is strategically aligned with this evolution by promoting its Skin Perfecting Protective Base Prep, which has demonstrated strong sales on platforms like Amazon since last year.

YUNJAC's operational plan for 2023 emphasizes the diversification of its international footprint beyond China, by systematically penetrating Japan, the U.S., Southeast Asia, and Europe. Tailored marketing strategies for each region aim to boost brand recognition and increase market share, setting YUNJAC on a path to emerge as a leader in the prep category.

A representative from YUNJAC stated that having demonstrated product efficacy and brand competitiveness in Asia, they see significant growth potential in the North American market. The ongoing expansion efforts will not only solidify the brand’s presence globally but also enhance its capability to meet evolving consumer needs with localized solutions, indicating a robust business model focusing on execution and strategic marketing.
