COSMAX PET Launches New Factory in Jeungpyeong to Expand Production Capacity

COSMAX PET, a subsidiary of the COSMAX Group specializing in pet health and beauty products, has announced the launch of its new factory in Jeungpyeong, Chungcheongbuk-do. This initiative is aimed at enhancing its production capacity in response to the growing demand for pet healthcare products and the needs of its clients.

To facilitate this transition, COSMAX PET signed a new investment agreement with Jeungpyeong in October of last year, committing 40 billion KRW to establish the new production base in the Jeungpyeong 2nd General Industrial Complex. The factory has been designed to specialize in the production of nutritional supplements and functional treat products for pets, featuring over four times the production space of its previous facility in Goesan.

This expanded capacity allows COSMAX PET to respond more flexibly to diverse product development and production demands. The company plans to strengthen its integrated ODM and OEM capabilities, overseeing aspects from product planning to raw material selection, formulation development, production, and quality control.

The Jeungpyeong facility will not only inherit the production capability of core formulas validated for quality and marketability from the previous plant but also enhance productivity and quality stability through the introduction of new equipment. Notably, the powder production line has been equipped with a system capable of maintaining GMP-level stringent manufacturing environment standards.

In addition to the existing forms of capsules, pellets, tablets, and liquid formulations, the new facility significantly expands the production lines to include innovative forms reflecting market trends, such as gel-type and squeeze gel products. This development will enable COSMAX PET to enhance its customization capabilities based on pet age, palatability, ease of feeding, and functional concepts.

Recently, the market for pet healthcare products has broadened, including not only basic health management areas such as joints, digestion, skin, and oral health but also functionalities related to weight management, anti-aging, stress relief, immunity, and antioxidant effects. This shift emphasizes the importance of product form competitiveness for easy and consistent feeding by pet owners.

From a production and quality control perspective, COSMAX PET has secured a reliable foundation, bolstered by certifications including ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 22716:2007 (Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics). The new facility has been designed to accommodate a diverse manufacturing infrastructure, supporting a range of categories from nutritional supplements to pet beauty products.

Differentiated material competitiveness remains a key strength for COSMAX PET. The company is currently expanding functional product development based on over 30 exclusive clinical materials for pets, alongside patented materials specifically for skin and coat care within the pet cosmetics sector. This enables them to offer integrated health and beauty solutions for both nutritional supplements and pet beauty products to their clients.
