Yonwoo Hosts Inaugural Packaging Summit Addressing Industry Trends

Yonwoo, a cosmetics packaging manufacturer and subsidiary of Kolmar Korea, successfully held the 'Yonwoo Packaging Summit' on the 21st at the Kolmar Korea Comprehensive Technology Center. This event, a first in the cosmetics industry, centered around packaging trends and quality strategies.

More than 200 participants from 100 companies attended, including domestic and international beauty brands, ODM and OEM firms, beauty B2B platforms, and packaging materials suppliers. This summit expanded on Yonwoo’s previous initiative of monthly 'Packaging Trend Report (PTR) Briefing Days' initiated after the opening of the 'Yonwoo Seongsu' showroom in Seoul.

At the summit, organizers focused on this year's packaging trends while addressing the European Union's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which takes effect on August 12 across EU member states. The discussions aimed to share standards for packaging destined for export to Europe, thereby providing participants with practical insights.

The PPWR regulations emphasize designing packaging for recyclability and increasing the use of recycled materials, with compliance required for all packaging in circulation within the EU by 2030. This highlights an intensifying regulatory landscape for sustainable packaging practices.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Yonwoo CEO Park Sang-yong, alongside congratulatory addresses from Choi Hyun-kyu, CEO of Kolmar Korea, and Jeon Hang-il, CEO of Kreaver. Presentations covered topics such as an analysis of beauty packaging trends through 2026, risk management strategies associated with the PPWR, and Yonwoo’s quality competitiveness in the global beauty market.

Moving forward, Yonwoo plans to institutionalize trend seminars and quality guide-sharing sessions to strengthen communication with client companies. Increasing collaborative activities with Kolmar Korea is also on the agenda to enhance synergies in design, formulation, and packaging development.

A Yonwoo representative stated that this summit was a significant opportunity to showcase the company’s differentiated quality competitiveness, aiming to build trust and reinforce partnerships with clients.

Established in 1983, Yonwoo is a specialized cosmetics packaging company known for being the first in Korea to produce dispenser pumps for cosmetics and to commercialize airless pump technology.
