COSMECA KOREA Publishes 2026 Sustainability Management Report
COSMECA KOREA, a global leader in cosmetics with OGM (Global Standard Production) capabilities, has issued its third sustainability management report, focusing on actual performance in the realms of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). This initiative was revealed on the 23rd of an unspecified month.
In the 2026 Sustainability Management Report, the company has prioritized four major issues through a double materiality assessment: enhancing product quality and safety, reducing environmental impacts of packaging, strengthening ethical compliance systems, and expanding eco-friendly products and services. This latest report brings new attention to 'strengthening ethical compliance systems' and 'expanding eco-friendly products and services' in response to shifting global regulations and market trends, further detailing the execution-focused ESG strategy.
In the Environmental (E) sector, sustainable packaging achievements based on the 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Replace, Recycle) strategy stand out. In 2025 alone, COSMECA KOREA developed 155 sustainable packaging options, achieving a cumulative total of 433. Among these, 'GRASTIC,' a 100% biodegradable bio-material made from natural ingredients like corn starch, made its global market debut at Luxpack in New York last May. Furthermore, the company has signed an exclusive MOU for overseas distribution in October, strengthening its position in the global supply chain.
Additionally, COSMECA KOREA has systematically implemented a Net-Zero carbon roadmap by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 5% and energy consumption by 2% through the establishment of smart ecological factories and the enhancement of power monitoring systems (ICT).
In the Social (S) dimension, the company has achieved enhanced product quality through notable R&D capabilities and digital transformation (DX) integration. By adopting an AI-based raw material blending, coloring, and recipe system within its ISO 9001 and ISO 22716 quality management framework, COSMECA KOREA has significantly improved product quality and safety. The company has proactively addressed the impending mandatory halal certification in Indonesia by successfully obtaining MUI halal certification for Muslim consumers.
Collaboration with the National Honam Biological Resources Center and Hyundai BioLand has also led to the development of PDRN-based functional ingredients derived from native plants such as ‘star flower’ and ‘small reed,’ expanding clean beauty formulas for 'Sustainable Beauty.'
In terms of Governance (G), COSMECA KOREA has enhanced its compliance and ethical management systems to global standards. In January, the company announced the introduction of a Fair Trade Compliance Program (CP), initiating systematic operations including departmental risk assessments. The organization has also achieved integrated certification in ISO 37001 (anti-bribery) and ISO 37301 (compliance management). To fortify transparent management, it has abolished the previous internal auditing system and has established a committee under the board to enhance compliance oversight with six specialized committees now actively operational.
These comprehensive ESG achievements have significantly boosted COSMECA KOREA's external evaluations. Following its receipt of the EcoVadis Silver rating in 2025, the company was awarded recognition from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in the '2025 Sustainable Management Awards.' Additionally, COSMECA KOREA received an upgraded 'AA' rating in the SustainBest evaluation for the first half of 2026, acknowledging its ESG management achievements. Furthermore, the company reported record financial results in 2025, with consolidated revenues reaching 640.9 billion KRW and operating profits at 83.5 billion KRW.
Vice Chairwoman Park Eun-hee stated, “This report is a product of our execution-focused advancements built on the foundation of ESG management we have established over the years. We will continue to grow as a trusted global beauty partner for our customers and stakeholders worldwide, based on transparent governance and responsible supply chain management.”
