Aekyung Industry's 'Mom's Choice Baking Soda' Named Green Product of the Year 2026
Aekyung Industry, a global total beauty company, announced that its multipurpose cleaner brand 'Mom's Choice' has been selected as one of the 'Green Products of the Year 2026' by the Korean Green Purchasing Network.
‘Mom's Choice Baking Soda’ is a multipurpose cleaner based on natural ingredients, widely applicable for washing fruits and vegetables, as well as for cleaning kitchens and bathrooms. Its excellent environmental performance and practicality have earned it a spot in the 'Green Products of the Year 2026'.
The 'Green Products of the Year' selection by the Korean Green Purchasing Network involves an evaluation of products by consumers after expert review and consultation regarding their environmental improvement effects and marketability. This year, 16 consumer and environmental groups participated nationwide, along with over 300 consumer evaluators. A total of 38 products and services recorded over 30% in both online and offline consumer voting and were selected as final candidates.
An Aekyung Industry representative stated, "Aekyung Industry continuously operates quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, to provide safe products to consumers. We will continue to enhance the safety and quality of household chemical products to improve consumer trust."
Furthermore, ‘Mom's Choice Baking Soda’ utilizes food-grade raw materials to ensure high safety standards and is managed according to specifications that meet both food additive and household chemical safety criteria. This product had previously been recognized in 2024 as an 'Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction.'
The 'Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction' designation is awarded to household chemical products that have participated in the safety compliance verification by the 'Household Chemical Products Safety Promise Implementation Council,' overseen by Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment. These products are manufactured using less harmful materials achieved by reducing or substituting hazardous substances, verified through criteria set for the selection of excellent products. This initiative began in 2021 through agreements between the Green Consumer Network, the Korean Green Purchasing Network, and the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, aimed at creating a safer environment for household chemical product usage.
