Daebong LS Collaborates with Kolmar Korea on Next-Generation DDS Platform
Daebong LS, led by CEO Park Jin-oh, has teamed up with global cosmetics ODM Kolmar Korea to develop a plant-based protein encapsulation skin delivery system (DDS) platform. The companies have co-applied for two related patents, enhancing their intellectual property portfolio.
Utilizing hydrolyzed rice protein (HRP), Daebong LS has developed technology that increases the stability of water-soluble active ingredients sensitive to external environmental factors, optimizing them for incorporation into cosmetic formulations.
The core innovation lies in the complex formation between HRP and water-soluble active ingredients, which protects the active components and ensures their stable application in cosmetic formulas. Daebong LS has spearheaded the development of manufacturing processes for HRP-based complexes and stabilization techniques, while Kolmar Korea has jointly validated the formulation stability and product applicability in actual cosmetic formulations.
Both companies have secured patents that cover the design technology for HRP-based complexes and the application technology for cosmetic formulations. The co-applied patents include a method for producing HRP-water soluble substance complexes (patent application No. 10-2026-0109241) and a cosmetic composition comprising HRP-water soluble substance complexes (patent application No. 10-2026-0109448).
These patents encompass design and manufacturing techniques for HRP complexes, aimed at improving the stability of water-soluble active ingredients, along with formulation technologies for practical application in cosmetics. Daebong LS has established an integrated DDS platform that moves beyond the development of single-functional raw materials to include raw material design, stabilization, and formulation implementation, with plans to extend the application range to various water-soluble functional ingredients.
The efficacy of formulations employing the HRP-based platform has also been verified. Results from human application tests and in vitro evaluations have shown improvements in key anti-aging indicators such as skin elasticity, hydration, and texture.
The collaborative research achievements are expanding beyond intellectual property acquisition to academic contributions. The two companies recently submitted a research paper based on this joint study to an internationally recognized journal, verifying the technical completeness and research outcomes of the HRP-based DDS platform.
