Samyang Group Hosts '2026 Samyang Connect' Event to Share Business Insights
Samyang Group, led by Chairman Kim Yoon, held the '2026 Samyang Connect' event on the 18th at the Samyang Discovery Center in Pangyo. This internal event aims to foster communication and cohesion among employees by sharing the company’s mid-year performance and strategies for the second half of the year.
During the event, Chairman Kim highlighted that the key products in the chemical sector saw improvements, driving overall group performance in the first half of the year. He noted that profitability in the specialty materials business sectors, including semiconductors and ion-exchange resins, also improved.
Kim emphasized several significant achievements, including the acquisition of the Japanese fragrance company Soda Aromatics and the expansion of Samyang NCKem's mid-year performance. He also mentioned the launch of the Samyang Group AI platform 'SAMI 2.0,' which positions the company towards its three main growth pillars: global market expansion, specialty materials, and AX (Artificial Intelligence).
Addressing the challenges ahead, Kim summarized the second half's business environment as impacted by three major factors: geopolitical risks, supply chain crises, and deepening disparities among companies related to AI capabilities. He stressed the importance of leveraging AI technology to stay competitive in innovation.
Chairman Kim outlined three main management policies aimed at enhancing productivity based on AX and transitioning the business structure towards specialty materials. He urged all employees to internalize these ongoing management guidelines, including the evolution of a global and specialty-centered business portfolio, cash flow-focused management, and the internalization of AI transformation.
Concluding his address, Kim encouraged a spirit of challenge, execution, and principled management founded on honesty and trust, urging the team to achieve the goals set for the year.
