Amorepacific Partners with Yonsei University to Research Inner Beauty in Youth
Amorepacific has initiated a collaborative research project with Yonsei University's Population and Human Resource Institute focused on the concept of 'Inner Beauty' among youth. To support this initiative, Amorepacific has pledged a total donation of 1 billion KRW, with 500 million KRW allocated specifically to this research.
The partnership was formalized during the 'Declaration Ceremony for Social Structure Reform Campaign in South Korea,' held at the official residence of the President of Yonsei University. Key figures in attendance included Amorepacific Chairman Seo Kyung-bae, Yonsei University President Yun Dong-seop, and Kim Hyun-cheol, the Director of the Population and Human Resource Institute at Yonsei University. The funds will be divided evenly between research on inner beauty in youth and social structure change responses.
The research project addresses the growing concern of youth being frequently exposed to beauty standards shaped by appearances, particularly in the context of digital and social media in the AI era. The research team aims to conceptualize 'Inner Beauty' as a relational capability that creates positive influences within interpersonal relationships, ultimately developing a Korean Inner Beauty Index (Inner Beauty Index, IBI) to measure this.
Additionally, Amorepacific will support research on responses to changes in social structure driven by AI transformation and demographic shifts. This research will explore social challenges and seek sustainable development solutions. The donation is expected to be utilized for hiring specialized research personnel and operating policy conferences to establish a robust research platform.
Chairman Seo Kyung-bae stated, "The healthy growth of future generations is a significant challenge that must be considered for sustainable development of our society. I hope this collaboration will assist youth in discovering their inner beauty and becoming proactive contributors to society." He further emphasized Amorepacific's commitment to supporting the growth of future generations in line with its mission of beautifying people and the world.
Notably, Amorepacific's 'Meet Your Beauty' campaign, launched in 2024, is designed to help future generations break free from uniform beauty standards and discover their unique beauty while fostering personal growth. The campaign encompasses various programs including beauty education, career mentoring, and creator development, aimed at empowering the youth to expand their potential and social influence based on a strong inner foundation.
