Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency Achieves A Grade for Fourth Consecutive Year
The Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency (KHIPA), led by Director Cha Soon-do, has achieved an A grade in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Management Performance Evaluation for Other Public Institutions in 2025,' marking the first time in its history that the agency has secured an A grade for four consecutive years.
This evaluation assessed 24 public institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, considering factors such as leadership, operational management, social responsibilities, and the performance of key projects.
Following its A grade in the 2022 evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, KHIPA maintained its A grade for three consecutive years in the latest assessment since its transition to an Other Public Institution in 2023, achieving the highest rating for a total of four years.
Significant achievements recognized in this evaluation included the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in management and operational innovations, the successful hosting of a high-level global health and medical R&D council (HIROs) led by the director, active administrative practices and regulatory innovations reflecting market demands in the biohealth industry, and efforts to strengthen financial soundness.
In the realm of key projects, KHIPA established a 'Healthcare R&D Investment Roadmap (2026–2030)' to guide national health and medical R&D investment directions. It received high praise for improving visa issuance systems to promote foreign patient attraction and supporting open innovation, which enhances the groundwork for domestic biohealth companies' international expansion.
Director Cha Soon-do stated, 'Achieving an A grade in the 2025 performance evaluation is a valuable result created by all employees fulfilling their responsibilities in their respective roles. We will continue to strive to be a specialized institution leading innovation in the biohealth industry and the enhancement of public health, earning the trust of the citizens.'
