Englewood Lab, the US subsidiary of global cosmetics company Cosmecca Korea, participated in Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas from July 13 to 15. The event, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, focuses on the B2B beauty sector and attracts global brands, manufacturers, raw material and packaging companies, and distribution buyers who share the latest technologies and market trends.

During the exhibition, Englewood Lab presented a proprietary sunscreen formulation incorporating Bemotrizinol (BEMT), a newly approved UV filter by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after 25 years. The company highlighted its local production infrastructure and R&D capabilities, aiming to suggest premium sunscreen products made in the USA that combine safety and efficacy.

BEMT is characterized as a broad-spectrum UV filter that effectively blocks both UVA and UVB rays while exhibiting high light stability. This FDA approval paves the way for the development of high-performance sunscreen products utilizing BEMT, which is expected to accelerate product competitiveness and technological innovation in the local market.

As K-beauty brands increasingly penetrate the North American market, Englewood Lab's 'RTG OTC (Ready To Go OTC)' solution has garnered renewed attention. RTG OTC is a turnkey service that reduces the regulatory burden associated with FDA-related procedures for launching OTC products, thereby enabling K-beauty brands to introduce sunscreen products to the local market more expediently.

An Englewood Lab representative stated that BEMT is emerging as a key ingredient in the US sunscreen market. The company emphasized its local production base, experience in developing OTC products, and differentiated R&D capabilities as crucial factors in reinforcing its competitiveness as a strategic partner supporting clients' entry into the US cosmetics market.

Currently, sunscreen products account for approximately 35% of Englewood Lab's total revenue from its US operations. The company plans to leverage its formulation technology and new product development capabilities to further enhance its presence in the US cosmetics ODM market following its participation in Cosmoprof.
