Amazon Identifies Five Key Trends Driving K-Beauty's Global Expansion
Amazon has announced five key trends expected to lead the next phase of global expansion for K-Beauty. By analyzing marketplace insights and seller performance during the 2026 Prime Day, Amazon highlighted a multifaceted growth model emerging across various K-Beauty products, markets, and categories. K-Beauty brands are combining continuous innovation and cultural influence with broader market accessibility, category extension, and enhanced operational capabilities.
Shin Hwa-sook, representative of Amazon Global Selling Korea, stated, "Korean beauty brands are at the forefront of global beauty innovation. They continuously transform new ideas into product portfolios that captivate customers across multiple markets and categories, establishing the ability to create trends and expand them globally as a core competitive advantage of K-Beauty."
**Trend 1: New Products Creating a Strong Growth Cycle**
The strong growth of K-Beauty products launched within the past year was notably evident during the 2026 Prime Day. Kim Bo-kyung from the Anua Amazon team remarked, "This year's Prime Day exemplifies that high-performance new product lineups are meeting the evolving needs of global consumers." She cited the representative products, including the mugwort line, as well as new offerings like the 'PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 Moisture Cream' and 'PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Capsule Mist,' which saw sales grow by over 130% year-on-year during Prime Day in the U.S. She added, "Through Amazon, we were able to introduce new products to a wider global customer base and further solidify this trend into robust brand growth." Another notable example includes Dr. Regioul, whose 'Copper Peptide Serum,' developed in collaboration with Amazon Global Selling Korea's new product development team, recorded sales performance exceeding 13 times the daily average during Prime Day, contributing to 20% of the overall sales on that day.
**Trend 2: Multiple Global Markets Emerging as New Growth Drivers**
The 2026 Prime Day revealed that K-Beauty is experiencing balanced growth across various markets, including Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Japan. Anua noted that their sales on U.S. Prime Day more than doubled compared to the previous year, while experiencing growth of nearly four times in Australia and over three times in Germany. Dalba also reported an 87% increase in combined sales across five countries – the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, and Spain – during this year’s Prime Day. Notably, growth rates in the U.K. and Germany were impressive, at 108% and 101% respectively. Dalba is exploring new opportunities for growth in collaboration with Amazon across various marketplaces based on these results.
**Trend 3: Operational Capability as a Core Competitive Advantage**
As global demand expands, organized operational capabilities have become a critical competitive strength for K-Beauty brands. Key sellers are establishing stable supply systems by predicting demand by country and preparing inventory months in advance. Han Seung-hyun, of Beauty Selection by Biodance's global e-commerce team, stated, "Preparing for Prime Day is a meticulous process that begins months in advance. By leveraging demand forecasting, safety stock configuration, and Amazon FBA inventory reports for logistics management, we maintained 100% stock of core products throughout the event." He further noted that optimized strategies using Amazon Strategic Account Services (SAS) and Amazon Seller Central promotional tools led to achieving record sales since joining Amazon.
**Trend 4: New Demand Driven by Social Virality**
K-Beauty brands are utilizing social virality to generate demand even before customers visit Amazon. The interest in brands formed on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram can be seen translating into increased search, traffic, and sales on Amazon. Equalberry, a skincare brand from Boosters, achieved an impressive 831% sales growth during the 2026 Prime Day compared to the previous year. Chief Marketing Officer Choi Jin-young stated, "This success was not achieved overnight, but is rather the result of consistent external advertising investments on Amazon for Vitamin C Serums and Nad Serums throughout the first and second quarters, particularly through Meta and TikTok sponsored ads." He added, "As a result, new customers on Amazon significantly increased, and the Illuminating Serum consistently ranked among the bestsellers in the facial serum category on Amazon." The process was greatly aided by Amazon Attribution, an advertising performance analysis tool.
**Trend 5: New Categories as Next-Gen Growth Drivers**
The next wave of growth for K-Beauty is expanding beyond skincare into haircare and body care. Moreover, leveraging differentiated product technologies and beauty devices is allowing entry into the premium market. Mediheal illustrates this category expansion well. Based on the success of its skincare and beauty device lines, Mediheal is venturing into entirely new categories, achieving over 500% sales growth in these categories during the 2026 Prime Day. Park Yoo-jin, from Mediheal's Amazon marketing team, remarked, "Global customers are first encountering Mediheal through skincare and age-reversal beauty devices. This Prime Day has validated that Mediheal’s innovations can extend into increasingly diverse beauty routines." He concluded, "We have observed strong consumer responses across haircare and body care and will leverage Amazon's global infrastructure to expand these new product lines and grow Mediheal into a global total beauty brand."
**Accelerating Global Growth of Korean Sellers**
Amazon continues to expand support for Korean sellers to discover suitable product opportunities for each market, manage inventory effectively, implement optimal advertising operations, and seamlessly transition into multiple marketplaces. Korean sellers can showcase their brands and products to millions of Amazon customers worldwide, including over 200 million paid Prime members and more than 11 million business customers.
Shin Hwa-sook, representative of Amazon Global Selling Korea, stated, "Amazon's role is to simplify the journey of global expansion, enabling sellers to focus on building beloved brands among consumers worldwide."
