Korean National Team Intensifies Training Ahead of 2026 OMC Hair World Championship

As the Korean national team gears up for the 2026 OMC Hair World, they are undergoing intense training, supported fervently by representatives from the Korea Beauty Association.

Lee Seon-sim, president of the association, praised the athletes for their dedication, noting that some participants also hold teaching positions at universities while junior athletes balance school and practice. The commitment displayed during both practice and competitions has been inspiring.

Vice President Kim Seon-nyeo acknowledged the challenging timing for current competitors, urging them to prioritize health and return victorious with the joy of success for their peers.

Vice President Jeong Mae-ja recognized the determination of the 13 national team members, stating that their pursuit of excellence in difficult circumstances is commendable. He expressed belief that the hard work of trainers like Park Hyeong-dae and head coach Kwon Gi-hyung would yield positive results.

International Committee Chair Choi Bok-ja plans to support the team on-site, ensuring the athletes can focus entirely on the competition.

Kwon Gi-hyung reflected on past international events, preparing the team for the current competition, which features fewer participants compared to previous years. He emphasized the importance of confidence, encouraging athletes not to be nervous and to perform to the best of their abilities.

Looking to innovate, he and trainer Park Hyeong-dae have developed new concepts that step away from traditional norms, drawing on experiences gained from the recent Asia Cup to enrich this year's performance.

Park Hyeong-dae, now transitioning from athlete to trainer at an international event for the first time in his decade-long career, discussed the differing mental demands associated with this change. He expressed gratitude towards his athletes, who have persevered through challenging preparations.

Captain Kim Eun-ji shared her sentiments about the upcoming competition, describing it as particularly special and stressing the importance of the opportunities presented, vowing to display a strong performance that reflects the team's hard work.
