JANGUP NEWS Introduces Global Content Trust Standards with C2PA and Bitcoin Technology
In response to the demands of the multilingual content era, JANGUP NEWS is implementing a new content trust system that allows verification of both sources and history of digital content, particularly as K-Beauty news expands into global markets.
According to Kwang-il Lee, head of the strategic business team at JANGUP NEWS, the new system will integrate the C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) technology for international content source and authenticity validation. Additionally, key content will utilize digital inscription techniques based on Bitcoin technology.
The C2PA is a technical standard designed to record the provenance and editing history of digital content, such as images and audio, through encrypted metadata. Participants like Adobe, Microsoft, and the BBC are utilizing it to combat deepfakes and fake news by establishing provenance proof.
The core objective of JANGUP NEWS's global multilingual news application system is not just content protection but to create a verifiable content distribution structure. This structure will allow stakeholders to confirm when and by whom news was published, and how it has been disseminated across global channels.
In an age of AI, understanding not only 'what was written' but also 'where it came from' is increasingly important. The rapid spread of generative AI and automatic translation technologies has resulted in environments where one piece of news or image can be reproduced across languages and platforms. For industries such as K-Beauty, where brands and products traverse nations and platforms, verifying content origin and authenticity becomes paramount.
JANGUP NEWS aims to apply this verification methodology throughout the news production and global content distribution processes, creating a foundation that enables source verification even as articles and images expand into multilingual content and social media. The proposed model will connect key content’s hash and publication information to a Bitcoin-based record structure.
By utilizing Bitcoin inscriptions, JANGUP NEWS establishes a format where records can reside in the on-chain area of the Bitcoin network, creating native digital artifacts without additional sidechains or tokens. The proof structure focuses on identifiable hash, publication, and verification information rather than storing complete original text on the blockchain.
Translation of K-Beauty articles originally written in Korea into multiple languages—such as English, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese—will maintain relationships to the original content even as it spreads across various platforms and channels. This includes distinguishing between official images and press materials provided by brands and the news produced, edited, and translated via AI by JANGUP NEWS.
This approach diverges from merely excluding AI. It emphasizes understanding the original basis on which content was created, who produced it, and the editing processes it underwent. This is deemed crucial for establishing trust in future content environments. JANGUP NEWS plans to incrementally incorporate C2PA verification information into articles and images, while also creating a verification interface for readers to confirm content source information.
Through these efforts, JANGUP NEWS intends to evolve from simply translating K-Beauty news into foreign languages to a global content network that also communicates the sources and relationships of content. Future expansions will not only apply to articles but will also include brand official materials, product images, videos, and creator content, aiming to establish a trust-based ecosystem that can be utilized by content producers, brands, media, creators, and buyers alike.
JANGUP NEWS CEO, Jung-kyu Kim, stated, 'In the AI era, it is not only important how much content is produced but also verifying where it began and through what process it was communicated. By utilizing C2PA and Bitcoin-based record technologies, we aim to cultivate a global content trust system that ensures content provenance and history are confirmed across any channel worldwide.'
