LUSH Korea Launches Giving Program with Two New Soap Products
LUSH Korea, represented by Woo Mi-ryeong, has revealed two new soaps under its Giving program, available at select stores and through the official LUSH Korea app. This initiative is founded on the message of solidarity aimed at transforming the world into a more LUSH-like place by promoting significant social and environmental values.
The newly introduced products include 'Better in Colour,' which embodies the respect for diversity and solidarity, and 'Coral,' aimed at conserving the marine ecosystem. Seventy-five percent of sales proceeds, excluding VAT, will be donated to small grassroots non-profit organizations dedicated to human rights and environmental preservation.
The 'Better in Colour' soap is designed to express the value of diversity and respect for differences through a vibrant representation of the Pride flag in LUSH’s signature style, communicating the message that 'our differences color the world more beautifully.' It features a refreshing scent of grapefruit peel oil combined with the alluring aroma of patchouli and includes coconut oil for a soft, comforting lather. The funds from this product will support the 'Everyone’s Marriage' campaign for marriage equality in Korea.
Meanwhile, the 'Coral' soap aims to raise awareness about the rapidly changing marine ecosystem due to climate change and to support activities that preserve coral reefs and seaweed forests, which host diverse marine life. It includes bergamot oil from Calabria, Italy, which adds a fresh, ocean-like fragrance. Similarly, 75% of the proceeds from this soap will support the marine conservation initiatives carried out by the Marine Citizen Science Center 'Paran.'
LUSH Korea's Ethics Team emphasized that LUSH stores serve not just as retail spaces, but as campaign platforms where customers can engage in discussions and actions related to important social and environmental issues. The team aims to create continued opportunities for customers to participate in LUSH campaigns and promote positive change in their daily lives.
Additionally, LUSH Korea plans to strategically curate Giving and campaign products according to regional and customer characteristics, along with related events. The newly redesigned Tweak store at Itaewon Station has been designated as a 'Campaign Champion' location for the Giving program, where various programs, including shop parties in collaboration with relevant organizations and customer-participatory campaign events, will be regularly introduced.
