KDRI Expands Global Clinical Evaluation Strategy at BIO Asia–Taiwan 2026

The Korean Dermatological Research Institute (KDRI), part of GFC Life Science, is intensifying its efforts in the global clinical evaluation market. With a foundation in cosmetic bio-material R&D, GFC Life Science is expanding its business scope to encompass clinical evaluation, functional skincare, and medical devices.

KDRI recently participated in the ‘BIO Asia–Taiwan 2026’ event at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, marking its continued push into overseas markets following its appearance at ‘in-cosmetics Korea 2026’. The institute plans to further solidify its global presence by attending ‘in-cosmetics Asia 2026’ in Bangkok this November.

During BIO Asia–Taiwan 2026, KDRI engaged in consultations with local partner NewCore regarding clinical evaluations and safety tests for Taiwanese companies. The increasing importance of regulatory compliance and product reliability in the Taiwanese cosmetics market underscored the demand for safety testing related to the Product Information File (PIF).

Consultations also included inquiries related to hair loss efficacy evaluation, sensitivity skin assessments, skin absorption tests, and skin temperature reduction trials. Notably, the discussions surrounding KDRI's patented assessment technologies highlighted the potential for international applications of its clinical evaluation techniques.

KDRI is introducing new assessment methodologies developed for this global exhibition, including cellular senescence-based anti-aging evaluations, cleansing efficacy assessments of the compound 2-Nonenal associated with aging-related body odor, and age-related analyses of the skin microbiome and balance care technologies.

The cellular senescence-based anti-aging evaluation platform comprehensively assesses changes in biomarkers like SA-β-gal and related impacts on skin homeostasis. Additionally, the cleansing efficacy assessment focusing on 2-Nonenal will utilize LC-MS/MS analysis to objectively evaluate products before and after use.

A KDRI representative noted that the Taiwanese cosmetics market is observing a rapid increase in demand for both efficacy validation and safety verification testing. The exhibition revealed significant interest in new testing methodologies among local enterprises. With its accumulated expertise and patented analytical technologies, KDRI aims to expand collaboration opportunities in Taiwan and the broader Asian market, ensuring continued participation in leading global exhibitions like BIO Asia–Taiwan and in-cosmetics Asia to enhance its competitive position as an international evaluation institution.
